The Espaņola Parks Division maintains three public parks, Valdez Park, Ranchitos Park and Veterans Memorial Park. Daily maintenance includes mowing, litter pick-up, tree trimming, fence repair along with other repairs as needed. Parks:Valdez ParkValdez Park is located at 313 Paseo de Onate, behind the Richard L. Lucero Center. The parks provides users with several tables and shelters for picnicking, open space for recreation, a sand volleyball court, three youth size baseball fields and a skateboard park complete with half-pipe and 4, 5 and 7 foot ramps and other apparatus. A large shelter is available for reservations. The baseball fields are used by the Espaņola Valley Little League and the Espaņola Valley chapter of the American Amateur Baseball Congress as well as the public and the City’s recreation program. Ranchitos Park Ranchitos Park is located at 811 Calle Ranchitos and features a regulation high school baseball field, outdoor basketball court, tennis courts, open space and the Espaņola Rotary Club Walking Track. The Penny Garcia Aquatic Center is also located at Ranchitos Park and is operated by the City Recreation Division. The baseball field is used by the Espaņola Valley chapter of the American Amateur Baseball Congress and is also available to the public. Veterans Memorial Park Veterans Park is located at 700 Vietnam Veterans Memorial Road across from Espaņola City Hall. Veterans Park offers a softball field and, open space, playground equipment for small children and a well used walking track. website |
