The City of Española is seeking an experienced professional to serve as its Chief Financial Officer. The position reports to the City Manager and supervises a staff of 8 FTE’s. City of Española has a general fund budget of $11M, and an overall operating budget of $39M and 200 FTE’s.
Position is responsible for and directs all finance and budgeting activities in the city, as well as supervising the following functions: accounting, treasury, investments, purchasing, fixed assets, payroll, grants administration, utility billing, accounts payable, information technology, and administration of the budget.
Requires bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or closely related field plus seven (7) years direct experience in governmental accounting and finance, including three (3) years in a supervisory capacity. Salary negotiable depending on education and experience.
